Guests will love to spend some time in our charming rooms: the “Zefiro” and "Mercurio" room with queen-size bed, the “Flora” (with balcony) and the "Clori" room featuring two single beds and consisting of a small living-room, one bath-room with bath-tub and shower as well as a fully equipped kitchen. All rooms are equipped with TV. Here guests will be able to relax and get a good night sleep in the quiet of the country-side before they start touring the Valdichiana and its hamlets, villages, castles and museums rich in history and art. The Valdichiana is an area that the international movie industry has chosen to be the backdrop of a number of famous productions such as “Life is Beautiful” by Roberto Benigni, that was shot in Castiglion Fiorentino and Arezzo, “The English Patient”, filmed in Pienza and surroundings, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” filmed in Montepulciano, Bernardo Bertolucci’s “Stealing Beauty” filmed between the Castle of Brolio and the Chianti area as well as Russel Crowe’s “The Gladiator” shot in the Val d’Orcia (San Quirico d’Orcia and Montalcino) and many more such as “A Room with a View” filmed in nearby Florence and the Italian movie “Banda Sonora” shot in Chianciano Terme. Guests may travel form the bed &breakfast to a wide range of destinations such as Siena (worth visiting also the location of the ancient battle of Montaperti – about 30 miles from the B&B), San Gimignano, Volterra, the Cecina valley all the way to Pisa and the Tirrenian sea.
Other interesting destinations that may be easily reached from our B&B are, amongst others: Città di Castello, Gubbio (40 miles) and the Valle del Misa. Visitors may visit the Val d’Orcia and Montalcino (25 miles) and then travel on to the Valle dell’Ombrone and Roselle, Populonia and Vetulonia. Or travel in the direction of Monte Terminillo driving through Perugia (30 miles), Assisi and Spoleto. Guests may alternatively visit the city of Dante Alighieri, Florence (55 miles) travelling through Arezzo, the valley of Casentino stopping over to see the river Arno and visit the historical battle site of Campaldino and the castles of Poppi and Vall’ombrosa. The central location of the B&B also allows guests to easily travel to the eternal city of Rome (60 miles) stopping on the way to visit Chiusi, Orvieto and Tarquinia in a charming Etrusco-Roman tour. And finally, only a stone’s throw away from the B&B wonderful Cortona (3 miles), Marciano della Chiana, the site of the battle of Scannagallo, Monte San Savino and the whole of the Valdichiana.
